1. How to find a doctor?

Unless you are having a life-threatening emergency, you should contact GBG Assist prior to seeking medical care. GBG Assist will refer you to an appropriate level of care provider- such as urgent care, doctor’s office or emergency room.

GBG Assist will refer you to a provider who participates in your policy's preferred provider organization (PPO) network. Please refer to your insurance ID card. You do not have access to any other network - only the one indicated on your ID card. If you have any questions, please call GBG Assist.

If you are in a location where a PPO provider is not available, or you choose to use a provider outside of the network, you may have to pay the bill yourself and submit a claim to GBG afterwards.

You also have the option to use the UnitedHealth Provider Medical Directory and search for a provider within the PPO network:

Here are the steps to help you navigate through the UHC Provider Link:
Step 1: Choose Medical Directory
Step 2: Select Employer and Individual Plans
Step 3: Click on UHC Member
Step 4: Click on ‘Not Now’ to continue
Step 5: Under Options “PPO Health Plan” select in the drop down box Search the network: Options PPO
Step 6: Click to continue
Step 7: Under “What type of Medical Care” Make sure to update the location to city or zip code
Step 8: Under “Find Health Care by Category” Click on People
Step 9: Under “Who are you looking for?” Click on Primary Care
Step 10: Under “What type of primary care provider (PCP)?” Select All Primary Care Providers
If there are no results then expand the distance on the left to within 20, 30 or 50 miles.

Remember! Unless you are having a life-threatening emergency, always call the insurance company first to verify coverage, before receiving any medical treatment!

2. Create your MyInsurance Account

You want to extend your insurance coverage, or you have lost your insurance ID card and need a new copy?
No problem. Simply log in to your personal MyInsurance account and find everything in one place.

3. GBG Member Portal - Claims Handling

The GBG Member Service Portal gives you access to the GBG online service portal where you can access forms,
submit claims, view your claims, and utilize many other tools and services.
If you have upgraded your policy with Virtual Healthcare Services, you can also access the GBG Member Service Portal through our app! ​
First, you will have to register your new account providing the following information- some of which is found on your insurance identification card:
  1. GBG ID (same as UHC ID#)
  2. First and last name
  3. Date of birth
  4. Email address (must match the email used when you were enrolled)
  5. Create username
  6. Create password
  7. Security question #1
  8. Security question #2
