1. How to find a doctor?

Unless you are having a life-threatening emergency, you should contact TSS Assist prior to seeking medical care. TSS Assist will refer you to an appropriate level of care provider- such as urgent care, doctor’s office or emergency room.

TSS Assist will refer you to a provider who participates in your policy's preferred provider organization (PPO) network. Please refer to your insurance ID card. You do not have access to any other network - only the one indicated on your ID card. If you have any questions, please call TSS Assist.

If you are in a location where a PPO provider is not available, or you choose to use a provider outside of the network, you may have to pay the bill yourself and submit a claim to TSS afterwards.

You also have the option to use the UnitedHealth Provider Medical Directory and search for a provider within the PPO network:

Here are the steps to help you navigate through the UHC Provider Link:
Step 1: Choose Medical Directory
Step 2: Select Employer and Individual Plans
Step 3: Click on UHC Member
Step 4: Click on ‘Not Now’ to continue
Step 5: Under Options “PPO Health Plan” select in the drop down box Search the network: Options PPO
Step 6: Click to continue
Step 7: Under “What type of Medical Care” Make sure to update the location to city or zip code
Step 8: Under “Find Health Care by Category” Click on People
Step 9: Under “Who are you looking for?” Click on Primary Care
Step 10: Under “What type of primary care provider (PCP)?” Select All Primary Care Providers
If there are no results then expand the distance on the left to within 20, 30 or 50 miles.

Remember! Unless you are having a life-threatening emergency, always call the insurance company first to verify coverage, before receiving any medical treatment!

If you need any help finding a medical provider in network, contact TSS Assist. They are open 24/7/365. It is extremely important to use a network provider whenever possible as they will direct bill the insurance company and will keep your expenses as low as possible. Depending on the policy, you will be responsible for a smaller portion of the expenses if you visit a medical provider in the network.

2. Create your MyInsurance Account

You want to extend your insurance coverage, or you have lost your insurance ID card and need a new copy?
No problem. Simply log in to your personal MyInsurance account and find everything in one place.

3. TSS Member Portal - Claims Handling

You will want to go to www.totalscholasticsolutions.com  and click on “Member Login”. This will give you access to the TSS online service portal where you can access forms, submit claims, view your claims, and utilize many other tools and services. First, you will have to register your new account providing the following information- some of which is found on your insurance identification card:

1. ID (same as UHC ID#)
2. First and last name
3. Date of birth
4. Email address (must match the email used when you were enrolled)
5. Create desired username
6. Create password
7. Security question #1
8. Security question #2

​Claims submitted by the Provider in the US:
The claims may be submitted to the Underwriter directly by the institution or Provider.  Bills coming from Providers within the United States should be submitted on HCFA 1500 or UB92 formats.

If you choose to use another provider outside the network you may have to pay the bill yourself and submit a claim afterwards. For a complete listing of the PPO Doctor or Hospital facilities, you may also visit www.totalscholasticsolutions.com
The claim form is only needed when a Provider does not bill the Insurance Company direct and when you have out-of-pocket expenses to submit for reimbursement.  All claim forms must have itemized bills and receipts attached, and should include the following information:  name of patient; account number; name, address, phone, and federal tax ID # of medical practitioner or institution; description of services rendered. Pharmacy receipts must include name of patient, name quantity and strength of medication, date purchased and price. Cash register receipts from a pharmacy cannot be processed for reimbursement. TSS Member Portal (Select: Health, Wellness & Vision Claim Form)
TSS must receive completed forms within 180 days of treatment to be eligible for reimbursement of Covered Expenses.
