What does it mean to waive my school insurance? +

Waiving means choosing your own insurance instead of the school’s default plan – if your school allows it and the alternative plan meets their requirements.

How do I know if a Compass plan works for my school? +

Use our Plan Finder above – just enter your school and state, then select visa type and travel dates and enter your DOB. If nothing shows, you can send us your waiver requirements and we’ll help you out.

Does my school have to accept the plan I choose? +

No – the final decision is always up to your school. Each college or university sets its own waiver requirements, and these may change without notice. Our Plan Finder helps you find insurance plans that are commonly suitable for waiver submission – but we cannot guarantee approval. Good to know: If your waiver is denied, you can cancel your plan and get a full refund. No risk, no problem.

Can I get a refund if the waiver isn’t approved? +

Yes! If your school doesn’t accept the plan, we’ll refund your payment, as long as no claims have been made. Simple and risk-free.

What info do I need to start the waiver process? +

You’ll usually need your school’s waiver form or guidelines, plus your new plan’s insurance certificate (which we’ll provide).

What’s the deadline to submit a waiver? +

It depends on your school. Some have strict deadlines at the start of the semester. Check with your school or follow @agentbewell on Instagram for reminders.
